Hey! 

My name is Derek, and I’ve had the privilege of being Lead Pastor here at Belton Nazarene Church since July 2017.

My wife Kristy and I met while I was interning at Highland Park Nazarene Church in Lakeland, Florida. We were married in December of 2000, and since then have gotten to have a lot of great adventures together. 

We’ve been blessed with four kids, biological and adopted, ranging in ages from 23-16. We have served in youth ministry in Ohio, Georgia, Texas, and Tennessee (2001-2017).

Kristy and I love serving here at Belton Nazarene Church, and we love the people of Central Texas!

Things I like to do for fun are play basketball, ride mountain bikes, play guitar, and sometimes video games. I also like to read, and am currently learning Spanish (s-l-o-w-l-y).

If you’re not connected to a church here locally, I’m inviting you to come in-person to a Sunday morning service at 10a; I’d love to meet you.

What I think you’ll find is group of people who welcome you and tell you, “You matter to God, and to me.”
