About Us

Our Mission:

Encouraging everyone to live like Jesus everyday.

We Believe . . .

. . . in one God – the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

. . . that the Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by plenary inspiration, contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living.

. . . that human beings are born with a fallen nature and are, therefore, inclined to evil.

. . . that the finally impenitent are hopelessly and eternally lost.

. . . that the atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race; and, because of this, that whosoever repents and believes in the Lord Jesus Christ is justified and regenerated and saved from the dominion of sin.

. . . that believers are to be sanctified wholly, subsequent to regeneration, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

. . . that the Holy Spirit bears witness to the new birth and the entire sanctification of believers.

. . . that our Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and the final judgment will take place.

Our History

1917

Belton Nazarene is organized

A group of people called the Nazarenes began holding camp meeting revivals on the banks of Salado Creek.

1917/18

The church moves to Armstrong School

After two weeks of creek revivals, the newly formed Belton Nazarene Church (BNC) began meeting in Armstrong School.
They soon purchased the old Sulphur Springs School building and met there until 1939.

1939

8th Avenue and Pearl Street

Shortly after sponsoring tent revivals in Belton, the church purchased a new location with the help of the San Antonio Church of the Nazarene District.

2000

Meeting in school buildings

In 2000, the church sold the Pearl Street property to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Belton Nazarene Church then began a five-year period of meeting in different school buildings including Belton Middle School, Belton High School, and UMHB’s business building.

2005

1701 Sparta Road

The church was able to begin meeting in it’s current home at 1701 Sparta Road in 2005. It is here the the church continues to carry out the work of expanding God’s kingdom and encouraging everyone to live like Jesus everyday!
